Applications are submitted through our online application portal.
Application Process

Check your eligibility using the guidance below
2.
Prepare your proposal, including project description, outcomes and budget
3.
Secure two referees (for individual applicants)
4.
Submit your application by the stated deadline
Shortlisted applicants may be invited to a conversation with the Trustees as part of the decision-making process.
What to Include in Your Application
All applications should clearly address:
- The artistic vision and ambition of the project
- Why the project matters now, locally and nationally
- The expected public impact and audience engagement
- How the funding will support excellence and growth
- A detailed and realistic budget
- Plans for sharing learning and supporting others (where relevant)
Eligibility
Geographic Eligibility
All funded activity must be:
- Based in Bristol or its surrounding areas
- Principally shared within a BS postcode
Applicants may live elsewhere, provided the work demonstrably serves the Bristol area.
Artistic Eligibility
We support:
- All art forms
- Interdisciplinary and experimental practice
- New work, research and development, and significant upscaling of existing provision
We do not currently fund:
- General running costs unrelated to artistic delivery
- One-off events without a wider artistic or developmental context
- Projects that are primarily commercial

Schedule
The deadline for applications to our first funding round is: 29th May 2026
Awards will be announced in late July with funding supporting projects lasting up to one year from the award date.
Details of additional application rounds will be published later in the year.

- Artistic excellence

- Feasibility and budget
- Potential impact and legacy
External advice may be sought where appropriate.
Shortlisted?
No → Applicant notified with outcome
Yes → Continue to next stage
Conversation / Clarification (if required)
Final Decision
Applicants Notified
All applicants informed of the outcome in July 2026
Grant Awarded
Successful applicants:
- Accept grant offer
- Agree payment schedule
- Confirm project timeline and reporting requirements

Grant holders deliver the project, share work publicly, and engage in light-touch reflection and learning.
This process is designed to be transparent, supportive and proportionate, while ensuring rigorous assessment of artistic excellence.
